Her backstory:
Cristela was raised as an adopted daughter of a merchant family in Solum. She's devoted to helping her parents from their business. She was ”studious” and ever the “curious” young child, said her father.
Germalis discovering Ignolem (crystal substance for the crashed site), thirsting for dominance over Prosperram, had her family’s business affected by this. Many civilians escaped faraway from war but, her family persevere to run their business. Trading was starting to get scarce after the invasion of Germalis. Cristela had no choice but to gather resources at Fersil, for the sake of her family. However, she felt unease every time she enters this forest. Nevertheless, she gathered enough to fend for her family.
One day, after her usual scavenge in Fersil, she was thirsty. A glimpse of a clear spring lake caught her attention. She took a sip…then another… and a big one to compensate her hard work. As she returns back Solum - suddenly screams shrieked. She rushed to see a horrifying sight. Wild bears ravaged like packs attacked her home. She quickly rushed to her family…but it was too late. A bear snarled between Cristela and her dying family. Mix of sadness, fear and sudden adrenaline of anger supresses her conscience. Her only family, she thought, as this ferocious bear about to lunge its blooded claws. Cristela’s eyes glow like clear sky, materialising a shard of crystal by her left arm. With no hesitation, it strike its target. Cristela gained consciousness afterwards, and quickly sat beside her dying family. Her father lasted long to grasped her daughter’s hand with a locket. Their moment was interrupted soon by gallop of hooves and clashing swords (Germalis Army no doubt). She quickly ran into Fersil, only ended up being chased by raging animals. Eventually, she met a dead end of a cliff without an opening escape. With no choice, she jumped as a wild deer about to advance towards her. The rest was blank…
She was washed ashore in an island, only met yet again with tribal brandishing their spears. A motherly yet intellect voice calmed them. She collapsed again and later ended up on a bed. That motherly figure was calmly sat next to her with brewing stew. Cristela had a lot to process, as memories of her family started reminding her. She was speechless. Rather introducing herself, she embraced her locket given by her dying father…a comfort to ease her. The motherly figure, understandably, left her to rest mentally.
3 days straight, she gradually got better and finally introduced herself. The motherly figure also introduced herself as Vogidt, the Matron of this island. Cristela told everything of her origin, even if it reminds her dying family. Vogidt took interest when she mentioned herself losing control. That power to able to materialise a crystal. Vogidt revealed herself as a conjurer of magicks and wanted to help her discover her potential. At first, Cristela was having second thoughts, to think she would use it again that made her felt unease. Finally, Vogidt encouraged her, with enough teaching and training, she can summon it at ease.
Cristela also learned so much due to Vogidt odd intellect, with her collection of archive from the past and battle formations, surely it was a refreshing knowledge…
18 years, she finally gained control of conjuring crystal shards. But, she swore to only use it to protect herself from danger. Perhaps, she thought of going back to seek vengeance. But, Vogidt warned her “your mind should be calm like a river, should your mind filled with molten lava, the power dominates you instead”. Cristela heed her advice and prepared her journey to travel around to seek intelligence and rebuild her family’s business as a merchant.
1470, she ended up in a city called Libram to seek more knowledge at its largest library. There, she would set on a journey to find answers of her powers, and why Solum was invaded by wild bears. However, she didn’t want risking her power taking ‘over’ her if she’s alone surrounded by such creatures. With the high demand of Mercenary being hired locally, she figured this could be her best bet.
As she walk to meet its envoy, an intimidating figure (taller than her) approached from behind. Cristela was shook by his stature that resemble of an animal. Nevertheless, his envoy introduce its assigned Mercenary, Berwin.
Berwin would eventually be her companion for the entirety of her journey, not realising what truth can befall their fate to be chased once again by the organisation…
